We have been super busy over the summer holidays getting our new service up and running and I would like to thank everyone who has so far offered feedback, advice and support to Autism First.
Autism First is a service very close to my heart. I have worked in the field of Autism now for 10 years and had a personal link for closer to thirty! In that time I have had the privilege to work with some wonderful children, families and professionals. I really hope to be able to use these personal and professional experiences to drive Autism First into the future and in time become a widely recognised and well respected provider of specialist support and advice in London and across the UK.
I decided to include a blog on the website as an opportunity for families, professionals and clients share information, stories and offer support to each other. The world of autism can be overwhelming, frustrating, emotionally charged and a lot of fun too and so I really look forward to connecting with you all and sharing our stories.
I will also be sharing updates on my research for a Masters in Education, specific to teaching children with an ASD. I have literally just got my provisional grade through for my research proposal this week! EEEKKKKK!!! I am now frantically trying to get organised by writing consent letters and an informative presentation for prospective participants so I can start intervention as soon as possible. Please check out our research page for updates as and when they become available!
The blog will also be a great place for you to come and see some of my top tips and handy hints for supporting students reach their full potential. I will keep you updated with current research and my own thoughts about some of these papers.
I love to hear from you, so please get in touch on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In or on the comments page attached to the blog and I will endeavour to return your comments as quickly as I can!
In the meantime, have a wonderful first few weeks back at school, enjoy the Indian summer and keep smiling :-)
Happy New School Year Everyone :-)
Love and Best Wishes
